The future of community pharmacy will be a key discussion at next year’s APP, with a number of presenters set to examine the subject during the event in March.
The discussion follows on from the launch of the Pharmacy Guild’s strategic planning project, Community Pharmacy 2025 (CP2025), which secures the future of community pharmacy to 2025 and beyond.
Supported and guided by rigorous market research, CP2025 has developed a vision to enable community pharmacies to have a viable, long-term future as an integral part of the Australian health care system.
In addition to the CP2025 related sessions, the program includes presentations by futurists Dr Keith Suter and Shara Evans, who will further explore the predictions and possibilities for the future of community pharmacy.
Dr Suter is one of Australia’s most influential global futurists in national and foreign affairs. The Foreign Affairs Editor on Channel 7’s Sunrise program, he is also the author of several books including ‘Global Order and Global Disorder: Globalization and the Nation-State’. Dr Suter will present on ‘The future of the pharmacy profession – listening for the faint signals of change’ on Friday 8 March.
As one of the world’s top female futurists, Shara Evans is regarded as a leading expert on emerging technologies, cyber security, digital privacy and the future of health. Shara will present ‘The future of healthcare’ on Thursday 7 March.
Spread over four days from 7-10 March, the APP2019 program will also cover the latest industry trends, clinical updates and a business bites program. Sessions which directly relate to the nine growth pathways identified by CP2025 are labelled in the APP2019 program with a yellow icon.
