Australian Pharmacy Professional Conference & Trade Exhibition

Portuguese Pharmacy Leaders to join international line-up at APP

Representatives from Portugal’s National Association of Pharmacies (ANF) will be amongst a number of key international pharmacy leaders at this year’s APP.

Sonia Querios, Head of the ANF’s Institutional and International Affairs, will be presenting in Thursday’s panel session on the topic of e-health and pharmacy, and how electronic prescriptions and electronic health records have impacted community pharmacy in Australia and overseas.

In her role at the ANF, Sonia is responsible for liaising with international associations of pharmaceutical and health sectors and relations with European and international institutions such as OECD. Sonia holds a Degree in Pharmacy, a Masters in Health Economics and Policies and is a member of the Global Pharmacy Observatory Advisory Committee of FIP (International Federation of Pharmacists) as well as World Pharmacy Council.

Her colleague, Duarte Santos, has been a member of the ANF board since 2013, is an invited Professor at the Faculty of Pharmacy of the University of Lisbon, and is currently studying for his MBA. He is also a member of the management board of the Institute of Training and Innovation in Health and a member of the World Pharmacy Council.

Duarte joins other international and Australian pharmacy leaders for a panel session on Friday 8 March to discuss remunerated services in community pharmacy throughout the world, the types of professional services that work well in pharmacy, and the key elements of successful programs.

Sonia and Duarte add to the already impressive line-up of international guests at APP, which includes representatives of key pharmacy associations in the US, UK, Denmark and New Zealand.

Once again, this year’s APP will be a must-attend, featuring over 100 international and Australian speakers delivering an array of presentations from industry updates to interactive workshops covering clinical and business topics.

APP2019 is being held from 7-10 March on the Gold Coast. Register on or before 31 January to save on the full registration fee. For a full program and to register, visit www.appconference.com.
