Melanie Drayton is responsible for the regulation and assessment functions of the OAIC. Prior to commencing this role in 2016, Melanie held a variety of director level positions within the OAIC, which enabled her to influence both reactive and proactive regulatory activities and strategic policy work. Melanie has worked across privacy, freedom of information and information policy functions including preparing guidance, drafting legislative instruments and promoting the requirements of the Privacy Act 1988 and the Freedom of Information Act 1982. Prior to her tenure at the OAIC, Melanie worked for the New South Wales government and community sector.
