Clare Fitzell is a highly respected pharmacist with over 25 years of experience in community-based practice. A graduate of Trinity College Dublin, she has held senior roles across pharmacy service delivery, regulatory affairs, and quality management. Clare currently serves as President of the Pharmaceutical Group of the European Union (PGEU), representing community pharmacists at European level and advocating for their vital role in health systems. She is also the Secretary General of the Irish Pharmacy Union (IPU), where she leads strategic initiatives to advance sustainable, patient-centred pharmacy services. Throughout her career, Clare has been a passionate advocate for improving access to medicines, mitigating shortages, and integrating pharmacists more fully into healthcare delivery.
