Dr Amira Howari is a senior clinical optometrist, health industry keynote speaker, and Diabetes Australia ambassador. A graduate of The University of New South Wales, she holds a Bachelor of Optometry (Hons), a Graduate Certificate in Ocular Therapeutics, and a Master of Optometry. Amira has extensive experience across corporate, independent, and pharmaceutical sectors, including roles as a Professional Affairs Associate and Clinical Supervisor at UNSW. She currently serves on the Diabetes and Endocrine Network at the Agency for Clinical Innovation (NSW Health) and is a sought-after speaker at national and international health forums. Living with type 1 diabetes for over 24 years, Amira brings a unique perspective to patient care and education. Her passion for diabetes advocacy has led to collaborations with public health bodies, media appearances, and contributions to leading health publications.
