Gary Ritchie
Gary Ritchie is a Managing Partner at the Global Consortium Group (GCG) and a former Assistant Chief Constable with Police Scotland, retiring in 2025 after a 34‑year career. As a member of the Police Scotland Executive Team, he led major portfolios including Organisational Change, Partnerships and Prevention, International Development and Operational Support. He championed public‑health‑led policing, developed Police Scotland’s first drug strategy, and oversaw the nationwide rollout of Naloxone to all frontline officers—an initiative credited with saving hundreds of lives. Gary also established Police Scotland’s International Academy and created global leadership development programmes across the USA, Australia, Asia, South America and Africa. He served on the board of the Scottish Institute for Policing Research and now chairs its International Board. He received the King’s Police Medal in 2025 and is an Honorary Professor at Edinburgh Napier University. He now lives in Sydney.
