Shi-Anne Wallace

Shi-Anne Wallace is a proud Mamu woman who, motivated by the lack of culturally safe healthcare she observed growing up, pursued her passion for health by enrolling in a Bachelor of Pharmacy, graduating in 2025 as the only Aboriginal woman in her cohort. During her studies, Shi-Anne was elected as the first Indigenous Chair of the National Australian Pharmacy Students’ Association (NAPSA), where she worked to embed Indigenous perspectives into pharmacy education and advocate for equity across the profession. Her leadership extended internationally when she travelled to the United States to represent Australian pharmacy students, engaging with global peers and exploring cross-cultural approaches to healthcare. Shi-Anne is committed to bridging Western medicine with Indigenous knowledge systems and continues to mentor other Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students, encouraging them to pursue careers in health despite the challenges of underrepresentation. Shi-Anne is actively engaged across the sector, contributing to initiatives that promote reconciliation and culturally safe practice. Her long-term goal is to strengthen Indigenous leadership in pharmacy, ensuring that Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities have access to healthcare that is respectful, inclusive, and responsive to their needs.
